Karl Simpson
Founder & Director – Finance, Property Acquisition & Operations
Karl has almost 40 years experience in the hospitality scene here in Brighton and has seen the many changes in this industry. A highly creative and innovative chef, Karl was the original founder of the award winning american bistro Paris Texas on Western Road and Chardonnay in Kemp Town. Plus 3 further restaurants in this City. Additionally, back in the late seventies Karl set up Troggs, housed in the luxurious Granville Hotel previously owned by Karl’s parents Audrey & David Simpson. The Granville was a real destination at that time being the first boutique hotel to open in the city, with uniquely themed rooms situated on Brighton’s iconic sea front.

Annette Fowler
Founder & Director – Strategy, HR & Brand
Annette had a completely different background. 25 years working in corporate sales, marketing, hospitality, recruitment and training in the distribution and recruitment industries. She was based both here in the UK and abroad. Having spent most of her life under the corporate umbrella she was keen for some independence and is thoroughly enjoying supporting Karl with Mojo’s. Her valuable skills help to allow Mojo to shine in this city and provide superb support for the ever growing team.

Laura Beyly
Senior Branch Manager (Based at Queens Road Branch)
Our gorgeous Laura was brought up in France and brings with her a flair for cooking and the hospitality scene. Her previous guise as a music promoter sits perfectly with the Barista world in Brighton. Laura’s hard work, attention to detail and support in growing a fabulous team in our flagship branch has been critical in building relationships with our customers, the many visitors that come to our city and of course the local community.
Laura’s love of music and all things foodie make her the perfect fit for our city centre branch.

Marika Markovicova
Branch Manager (Based at Lewes Road Branch)
Our lovely Marika has a true true passion for everything coffee. She has spent the last 12 years working within the independent coffee scene here in our vibrant city. She even has her own band of followers that keep up with her coffee travels! Marika’s passion for hospitality is catching as she leads her team with speed and enthusiasm.
In her spare time you will find her chilling out with her most loving companion, her totally gorgeous oh so beautiful Weimaraner dog, Lapine. Marika is our resident dog expert with a warm welcome and a cuddle always ready for our regular four legged friends.
